salam all
i just wanted to be the first person to post in this thread Razz

i dont actually think there is anywhere worthwhile to study in turkey anymore.
my friend studied in a dar ul uloom in england, and in his fourth year a turkish student came over because his madrassa had been closed by the government and he had nowehere to study in turkey.

I think everything over there is HEAVILY monitored.

I have recently found out there are a number of places to study in turkey. On my trip to Syria i met many many turkish brothers. However the universities prevent the students from keeping sunnah beards, so its not exactly the best place to study (not unlike Abu Nour :p). There are a few madrassas, but in syria i met MANY MANY turkish students, and it appears that turkish students usually prefer to go to neighbouring syria for arabic and islamic studies.
None the less an indonesian friend of mine was preparing to leave syria for turkey in order to finish memorising the Quran. I am not sure where he was planning to go but it miught have been to the madrassa of Shaykh Mahmoon Effendi of the Naqshbandi silsilah in Istanbul. His students are to noticed with ease amongst turks, as they have long sunnah beards and wear a white turban with a turkish jubba.
Hope that adds to the thread :) .

wa salam
